Launching meeting of the Interreg POCTEFA GREEN project
On July 19, all the partners of the Interreg POCTEFA GREEN project met in Montels at the PNR of Pyrenees Ariéoisoises to start this ambitious project that will work during the next 3 years in the networking of natural spaces in the Pyrenees.
The CTFC participates in the GREEN project as responsible for the networking of the Pyrenees natural spaces managers . Through the creation of a telematic platform, the aim is to encourage the exchange of management experiences and cooperation between managers, and in the long term, towards a common strategy for the preservation of the biodiversity of the Pyrenees.
The main idea is that managers of different natural spaces of the Pyrenees face very similar problems. With the possibility that any of these problems have already been resolved, networking would be useful for facilitating the response among them, and thus serve as an example for other managers.
The GREEN project, financed by the Interreg POCTEFA program, also intends to implement specific actions for restoration, conservation and management in three priority areas: forest, agricultural resources and the lacustrine and muddy resourses.
This meeting served also for the 18 associated entities representatives to meet each other, share their expectations and start working on the actions of the project.
The project is co-funded at 65% by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Interreg V-A Spain-France-Andorra Program (POCTEFA 2014-2020). The objective of POCTEFA is to strengthen economic and social integration of the border Spain-France-Andorra. Its help concentrates on the development of cross-border economic, social and environmental activities through joint strategies in favor of sustainable territorial development.
